Monsoon driving safety tips: reducing your breakdown risk

Before monsoon season starts, check your tyre tread depth. Worn tyres dramatically increase stopping distance and skidding risk on wet roads, and it's the single biggest preventable cause of monsoon-season accidents we see.

Never drive into standing water if you can't judge its depth. Engines can hydrolock in seconds if water is drawn into the intake, turning a simple flooded-road crossing into an expensive engine repair, and a tow is the only fix at that point.

Check your wiper blades and headlights before the rains start, not after the first storm. Reduced visibility is a major factor in monsoon-season collisions.
